The Kaplan Area Chamber of Commerce was organized for the purpose of fostering, encouraging, promoting and developing the civic, industrial, commercial, social, governmental, economic and general welfare of the Kaplan area, the City of Kaplan, the Parish of Vermilion and the State of Louisiana.
On May 18, 1965 the very first meeting of the Kaplan Area Chamber of Commerce was held. The directors who were instrumental in the formation of the Chamber were: Tom Baudoin, Wilfred Bernard, Charles Broussard, Margaret David, Dr. F.J. Falgout, J.D. Hanks Jr., Dr. George Fletcher, L.J. Hebert, Roy Hebert, Horace Lormand, Louis Roy, Lytle Turnley, Lyman Vincent, and Ralph Willis.
Through the direction of Gerald Broussard, the Chamber was reorganized in 1983 making 2008 our 25th Anniversary. The directors were: Stacey Adams, Ernie Alexander, Ray Aucoin, Gerald Broussard, Ken Broussard, Shelly Deshotels, David Granberry DDS, Dane Guidry, Gordon Herpin, Mike Herpin, Conrad Kaplan, Ray Morvant, Lynn Toups, Milton Toups Jr., and Floyd Weber.
The Kaplan Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting, supporting and assisting the Kaplan business community through quality service and communication.
